Memory Garises

Memory Garises is an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia. She holds an LLM in Commercial Law and a Certificate in Compliance Management from the University of Cape Town, a Baccalaureus Juris Degree (BJuris) and Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Namibia. Memory was a 2014 NAMFISA bursary recipient and currently working within the Legal Division at NAMFISA. She has previously been a part-time Lecturer at the University of Namibia, where she lectured Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution, the Law of Contract, Law of Evidence and Commercial Law. Prior to joining NAMFISA and the University of Namibia.

She was employed as a Candidate Legal Practitioner at Clement Daniels Attorneys. In her role as a leader, Memory is one of the founding members of the Editorial Board of the University of Namibia Campus Newspaper in 2008 and served that body as an Economic Articles Editor. She was also one of the founding members of the University of Namibia Law Review since its inception in 2012 and served that body as Articles Editor and Treasury. In 2012 she served the University of Namibia as a Peer Educator and Student Assistant during the period of 2012 -2014. Memory has also gained professional experience while working as a pro bono student intern at the Windhoek Magistrates Court. She served the Special Olympics Namibia community during 2008-2010 as a football for hope coach for children with disabilities. Memory continues to embark on community outreach programs through her local church Christian Revival Church (CRC) and mentors young ladies and gentlemen in her spare time.
