Johanna Shitaleni

Johanna Shitaleni, is a Postgraduate Scholar at the University of Science and Technology, She holds an Honours Degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Namibia and is currently working for the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA Fund) with in the field of Training and Development and prior to the fund she served Namibia Water Corporation (Pty) Ltd (NAMWATER) as a Talent Management Practitioner. Johanna also worked for a donor funded environment at the Namibia Red Cross Society within the HR Department.

At the time, as a full time student, Mrs Shitaleni was actively involved in a youth fellowship society that dealt with strengthening one spiritual life even while on campus, which assisted many young people to stand strong in their faith. In 2011 Johanna attended a world conference in Poland organized by IFES, where she was selected to be the only Namibian student representative at the conference.

Her professional interest lies in Training and Development and Talent Management where she wants to centre on advocating for training and development as well as talent management in corporate institutions. Talent Management deals with putting strategies in place to help attract, motivate and retain talent within the workplace. However functional training and development in the workplace can be seen as Talent Management strategy.
