Hilma Moses

Hilma Ndinelago Moses is a Namibian young leader and public speaker. She joined leadership at the age of 13. In 2005 Hilma was awarded as the second youngest competitor in the African Continent: Scenarios of Africa HIV Script writing competition and in 2011 Hilma received an award as second runner up of the SADC student Essay competition. She served as the LRC Head Girl for Gabriel Taapopi Secondary School and was later appointed to serve as a Member of the Ongwediva Junior Council. She served among others as a youth leader for Phillippi Trust Namibia on youth related issues and served her 3 years in Student Leadership in her capacity as the University of Namibia Student Representative Council Vice President, Secretary for Academic Affairs and Faculty of Law Representative. Hilma is the Founder of Namibian Opportunities and is an advocate for young people to access various opportunities and to engage in meaningful discussion for the betterment of the world.  Passionate about the African continent. She joined the African Union  Commission in 2016 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia as a Human Rights Associate in the Department of Political Affairs and later went on to serve a Junior Political Officer (Human Rights and Transitional Justice ). Hilma holds a Bachelors of Laws (LLB ) Honours  from the University of Namibia , Diploma in Disarmament from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace ( UPEACE) and is currently Pursuing her Masters in Sustainable Peace in the Contemporary World with the same University. Hilma was celebrated in 2017 as one of the Namibian Women who Impacted 2017 She has been on various TV channels in Namibia on Shows such as Business Today, Good Morning Namibia, Talk of the Nation discussing Youth Politics, Opportunities and servant leadership.  Hilma was selected by the United States Mission to the African Union as a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow and in 2016 selected as a One Young World Ambassador.
